Linda Boggie

DVM, Cert Vet Ac(IVAS), Fellow AAVA

Dr. Linda Boggie graduated from Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1987 and worked in various practices across the USA, including a 24-hour animal hospital in Phoenix, before becoming a partner at a high-quality small animal practice in California. She became IVAS-certified in 1995 and that same year began studying with Jeffrey Yuen, an 88th generation Daoist priest of the Jade Purity School - a depth of Classical Chinese Medical theory that continues to shape her clinical approach. She completed her veterinary Chinese herbal course at the Chi Institute in 2004, and in 2014 became a Fellow of the American Academy of Veterinary Acupuncturists (AAVA). An active IVAS member since 1995, she served as President from 2002 to 2008, is active on the International Education Committee, served as Examination Committee Chair, and was on the Board of Directors for a number of years. In 2011 she was an invited keynote speaker at the first International Congress of TCVM in Lanzhou, China. Since 1998 she has lectured worldwide - in the USA, Canada, Scandinavia, Australia, China, Taiwan, Cuba, Brazil and Europe - and was part of the teaching team for the ABVA Foundation Course. She currently organises courses in acupuncture in the Netherlands. Since 2003 she has lived and worked in Deventer, where she and her husband - a veterinarian specialising in dentistry and orthopaedics in companion animals - run an integrative practice (dierenartsdeventer.com). Her spare time is happily spent with her husband, their Friesian horses, two cats, and a Shetland pony.

Dietrich Graf Von Schweinitz

BSc, DVM, MRCVS, Cert Vet Ac(IVAS)

Dietrich qualified at the University of Georgia (DVM, 1982) and is a Member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (MRCVS). He became IVAS-certified in 1999 and founded To The Point Acupuncture Referrals in Guildford in 2000, a referral practice he continues to run today. As Past President of the ABVA (2000–2004) and former member of the IVAS Board of Directors (2004 - 2007), he is a recognised authority in international veterinary acupuncture. His professional interests include pain physiology, myofascial trigger points, infrared thermographic diagnostics, and acupuncture in chronic disease across all species. He has published in leading journals including Equine Veterinary Education, In Practice and Acupuncture in Medicine, and has taught at the Royal Veterinary College, Cambridge Veterinary College, and at IVAS congresses worldwide. With over 25 years of clinical and teaching experience, Dietrich is unparalleled in grounding acupuncture in science and neurophysiology.

Aleid Hillebrand

DVM, Cert Vet Ac(IVAS), TCMA

Aleid graduated in veterinary medicine from Ghent, Belgium (1992–1998) and moved to the UK to work as a small animal veterinarian. When her own health forced her to stop, she experienced the value of holistic treatment first-hand - a turning point that led her to acupuncture. She completed her IVAS veterinary acupuncture training (2015–2017) and went on to study human acupuncture at TCMA, a Dutch TCM school (2017–2020). This breadth of knowledge - conventional, veterinary and traditional Chinese - makes her a uniquely well-rounded teacher. She now works as a holistic veterinarian in her own practice and at holistic practice Den Hoek, treating dogs, cats, rabbits and horses. For the past ten years she has been teaching on IVAS veterinary acupuncture courses and is a valued team member at TCMA. She's given lectures throughout the Netherlands on various topics, such as The Circulation of Giraffes, Basic Rabbit Care, Vaccination and Titer Tests, CFS/ME and Lyme's Disease, Regular and Holistic Diagnostic Tools, Dog and Euthanasia, and of course about The Five Elements, the topic of her book Get to Know Your Pet using the Five Elements (Dutch edition, Karaktertypen, 2024, A. Hillebrand & E. Laarakker). The English hardcover edition, Character Types: Get to Know Your Pet Using the Five Elements, is due for release in July 2026 - just ahead of the course. She has also written numerous articles on the five elements and veterinary acupuncture.
